- Spin Doctor Renaissance Maxi Dress -
I waited so long for this dress. It's a pricey one. I was upset with myself when I missed it in the auction. But I finally bit the bullet and bought one in 2xl, which is my usual size in Hell Bunny.
First thing I noticed, was that bust area is padded. It has ruching around the bust which, with a bra, makes it sit out and away from my bust. Without a bra, I'll have to see if the girls stay in their assigned seats. I need to perform further experiments. It certainly looks odd with my regular bra.
Around the back of the chest, there is shirring to ease the fit. I feel without this; I would have had to size up from my 2xl. The fabric had no stretch and is a somewhat delicate 100% polyester. There is an inner lining and these thin straps that are detachable. The straps let the whole dress down, as mine came out of the bag frayed. For the money, I would expect Spin Doctor/ Hell Bunny to use a better ribbon for the straps. I will be looking to replace them. I felt disappointed by this which seems silly as the rest of the dress is well made.
The pattern is beautiful, with renaissance pictures, one being a nude.
I haven't worn this dress for any length of time, but I hope to in the summer. Just need somewhere to wear it.
