- Collectif Winona Dress (Pre-order) -
I have tried to get this dress several times, and Linda at Kitty Deluxe managed to snag me one.
I was told to size down by several people so, with great trepidation, I got the size 16. (EEP) My usual Collectif size is 18, especially in pencil dresses.
The Winona did not disappoint. I managed to wiggle into it, and it stretched around my body like a big hug. This style of dress is a departure for me, as it is high neck but, I did not feel throttled at all. The collar is striking against the black, and I can foretell that this little black dress and I will have many adventures, both work like and formal.
The dress is made of a stretchy, smooth bengaline material. If you are between sizes, go down for sure. The dress sits just below my knee. This length may be too long for shorter ladies (I am 173/4cm), but it would be easy to hem up to get the right length. At the hip area, you have two pockets. Great for thin things but anything bulky would bulge at the wrong place. Maybe a bus pass or a credit card but not much else. Who wants wider hips?
The arms are not too small. My arms are bulky at the top with lots of flab, but they fit though. Not too tight due to the stretchy nature of the fabric. I haven't worn the dress for hours to see if they remain comfortable.
A classic dress and a new staple in my wardrobe. ( Sorry I really need to spring clean all of my mirrors.)
